After treatment

This advice is for the first 24/48 hours -

Most patients are allowed to return to their daily activities immediately after laser hair removal. Keep in mind that the treated area may appear flushed directly after the procedure, a bit like sunburn.

You are advised to:

*avoid hot showers, baths, saunas, steam rooms or Jacuzzis for the first 24 hours after laser hair removal. Perspiration or the heat from the steam can irritate already tender skin.

*No make up to be applied to the area, except for bare mineral make-up, which is chemical and fragrance free.

*No perfumed products to be applied to the treated area for 24/48 hours

*SPF 20 sun cream is recommended for use immediately after treatment and for 3-4 weeks afterwards on exposed areas. You may be photosensitive after treatment and therefore prone to uneven tanning or pigmentation.

*Do not tan the skin between treatments.  The paler the skin is, the better the effect from the treatment.

*Aloe vera may be applied to soothe the skin, if necessary

*No waxing or tweezing of the hairs in between treatments. The root must be present in the hair follicle for the laser to work.

*Shaving between treatments is allowed.

*The area to be treated must be shaved before you come for treatment otherwise an additional cost will apply
